  1. University of Fort Hare (South Africa): May 2006 – Present
    • Professor (Department of Information Systems)

      Responsibilities have included being:

      1. Deputy Dean (Faculty) with the portfolio of Research and Internationalization;
      2. Head of Department (Information Systems) for five years;
      3. Mentor to younger academics (have been asked to join the programme as a mentor for the fourth time);
      4. Recurriculation of Information Systems degrees (bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral – aligned to AIS and ACM);
      5. Supervisor of postgraduate students and lecturing of subjects.

      In addition I have successfully raised funds for the Department of Information Systems from BankSeta, IBM, NRF and Liberty Life (generally to refurbish laboratories and student bursaries).

  2. Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (South Africa) School of ICT: July 2000 – December 2013
    • Started as a fulltime employee including being the East London Centre Manager for the period June 2001 to Dec 2002. I was later appointed on contract (part-time) to provide postgraduate supervision services.

  3. Prior positions
    • Jun 1999 – May 2000 Director of Resources (youngest director ERP & CRM consultancy: CallCentric, UK)
    • Oct 1995 – May 1999 Business Application Manager (ERP consultancy: Computing Resource Centre, UK)
    • Sep 1994 – Oct 1995 Took a sabbatical to do an MBA full-time (UK)
    • Feb 1994 – Sep 1994 Started at Computing Resource Centre in the ERP arena (UK)
    • Oct 1992 – Dec 1993 Completed bachelor’s degree (full-time) then relocated to the UK
    • Feb 1988 – Sep 1992 Manager – Cape Share (youngest regional manager in the country, South Africa)
